Creativity roundup

Fall, brief as it was, is over. Fall is lovely and golden here, what with all the aspens, but it doesn't last long. Especially not this year! The other day we got 6-10" of snow, depending on where you measure, and while it was pretty to see gold leaves against the snow, um, now they have all turned black and are falling off. My girls got extra creative and made this:

They wanted to make the groom and attendants, but it got too dark. And this week it's supposed to be warmer and raining. But they've made drawings for next time, so I have a feeling when we get snow again, our back yard will be peopled by wedding guests.
My husband was out of town for a few days for a conference. I noticed when I picked up him up at the airport last night that the snow line is the county line, with an even stronger snow line on the city limits. Yes, apparently we live in the Little House on the Tundra. After a while of living here, though, you just sort of embrace it. And yanno, use it for your own creative purposes, see above.
In other creative purposes, I've finally finished the quiet book. My 7YO daughter keeps pointing out that she is the only one who doesn't have one (I made some for my older kids when they were small). So I'll have to start that. But they are kind of intense. Here's the page PMB specifically requested:

And there's plenty of creative action going on writingwise, too. I've been struggling with this book for which I have a pretty full outline and a lot written on. I have two main characters, and I'm pretty clear on the one, but the other one (who is slightly more of the main character) was eluding me. But last night at like, 1 am, a bunch of stuff about her fell into place. I love when that happens, except that I can't go to sleep until I write it down so I don't forget. And then my brain is just AWAKE. So I'm not sure how effective I'll be today, but I have hopes for this thing!
Sending out happy Monday wishes to all--and sympathy to the east coast.
