It's spring!

It was really warm today--I think in the upper 60s here. We went to Grand Teton because it started its spring schedule today. Some roads were open and some were only open to bikes and foot traffic. There wasn't a lot of hiking we could do without snowshoes or skis, and surprisingly, we saw very little wildlife. But we still had fun. Obviously as it's up in the mountains, it's still pretty snowy. But the temperature in Jackson was 65, and we wore sweaters/t-shirts, even while strolling over (and sometimes breaking under!) the snow. We saw guys out ice fishing on Jackson Lake. Um...I don't think I would feel comfortable doing that when it's 20 degrees above freezing!! Even if the Snake River was entirely frozen over in some parts. ( Read more )
