So, Sunday
Mar. 27th, 2011 06:41 pmBrr! It's cold. The temperature isn't all that bad (mid-30s?) but when you have a 30mph driving wind mixed with snow/sleet, it's not fun to be outside. Spring, come!
I'm very sad to learn that our neighbors are up and moving this week. We have lots of great neighbors, but these have a little boy PMB's age and they have been best friends since they clapped eyes on each other. They ride bikes and climb snow banks together, they look at rocks and run around like crazy people together, and they also like to sneak out of the chapel during church service together. (That part is scary. They are good at stealth!) But the dad's job is taking them now through the summer to California this week. They'll be back in the fall, but as they are only renting their house and the owners are coming back in August, they won't be our across-the-street neighbors anymore. :( We are all very sad.
For a good thing today, though, the strawberry parfait ring worked! It would be a great thing to make when it's really hot outside, because it's basically ice cream. We made it with cool whip, instead of the heavy cream it called for. Cream would taste better, but OTOH, cool whip means you can eat it if you're on a fat free diet. Here's how ours looked:

Not bad, huh? I'm planning to make my other favorite from that book for Easter.
I hope you all have a relaxing Sunday!
