Today I found a used bike for my 6YO (her last year's bike is now way too small), replaced the inner tubes on that bike and another, and found a frame for this picture:

It will look nice near the piano, don't you think? I also have this guy hanging in a bathroom.

My 10YO was a little disturbed at first, but we hardly notice him anymore.
For tomorrow's dessert I also made the Strawberry Parfait Ring from the inside cover of the Farm Journal Country Cookbook from like, 1972.

I stared at that one and another one a lot when I was little, hoping that someday someone would make it. Then I grew up and got married, and my MIL has that same cookbook. So I stared at it some more. Then I decided to just make it myself. We'll see how it turns out. It certainly looks cool, though! Recipe here (scroll down). I was put off at first by the raw egg whites in it (I have seen poultry disease in action, and NO THANK YOU to raw eggs), but then I realized I could use powdered egg whites. They meringue just as well as fresh eggs, but they're pasteurized. Problem solved.
Additionally, I tried to repair a drywall dent. That one...sort of failed. Must think further. (Um, actually I think that's a job for DH.)
Still, I feel oddly restless, like I haven't quite accomplished anything today. Don't you hate that?
