I think maybe spring is here? Because even though it's cold and gray, I'm sneezing like crazy. I love trees, but I do not love their pollen!
Why are two of my children still up, even though it's 10:49 pm? I'd really like to work on my revision after everyone's gone to bed, but I am just not a night person... On the bright side, PMB is NOT one of the awake ones! He's slept through the night all of what, three times now? And he's 19 months old?
The revision...it's challenging to collate all the comments from a full ms crit from a group. (If that doesn't make sense, see the hour!) I'm telling myself it's not that hard, that there are only a few scenes that need a complete overhaul, and the rest is clarifying the spots where important info got edited out. Um, and tightening. Always tightening... I love this book, though. Even though I've done ten thousand revisions on it (and written a whole different book in the middle of all that revision). If it's ever published, it will be the poster child for books you should never give up on...
And finally, reading: Calamity Jack, by Shannon Hale, Dean Hale, and Nathan-Hale-no-relation. See the building at the top of p. 21? Provo City Library. I used to live across the street from it. Unfortunately, it was not a library then, but rather, a condemned building, and had a haunted house reputation. Before it was a creepy building, it was the Brigham Young Academy building (predecessor to Brigham Young University). My grandma was a student there! I love to read books set in real places, and I love to see real places I know in books. Plus, it's just an awesome book.
