I hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend. I actually forgot which weekend it was because I'm so tired. (PMB has a cold so he was up a lot last night as well). Otherwise we might have planned something interesting. For example, I found out a couple days ago that my 20-year reunion is going on this weekend. Oh, well. I knew a lot of great people in high school (my icky school experience was middle school/junior high, and then I moved), but most of the people I really hung around with don't live in the area anymore. When I glanced at the list of people coming, they are mostly the ones I knew peripherally but weren't terribly close to, except for a couple of friends who live close by and I can see any time. So it's okay. But it would have been interesting. I've never been to a high school reunion (of my own).
Anyway, I am so tired! PMB got worried when I lay face down on the floor to rest this afternoon (he can climb on the bed now, so I was trying to lure him somewhere safer--ie, the floor--so he wouldn't fall off when I was unconscious). So of course he climbed around on me and tried to pry my eyelids open to make sure I was still inside. He is very tired, too, but can't really settle down because the other kid are watching a Harry Potter movie and he wants to be with them. What I'd really like to do is curl up in bed with a total escapism book and then let it slip from my fingers at the end and drift into sleep myself. Ah, well. At least I got everywhere I needed to safely today, and the car behind me was watching when I stopped suddenly to avoid running over Anubis. At any rate, it looked an awful like him--a very Egyptian jackal-looking puppy playing in the middle of the road. Both he and we escaped being hit, so we're glad.
Tomorrow (provided the library is open, now that I think on it), I'm going to "my office" where no one peels at my eyelids, and I'm going to work on this revision. I have some ideas, but they involve holding the whole novel in my head at once to make sure it's consistent. Wish me luck!
