Okay, I'm reading the newest Thursday Next book by Jasper Fforde (First Among Sequels), which means my reading pace is slowing down a bit. And adult book is just more dense than a MG, even if Fforde does play light and silly. I needed something quick to down last night, so I picked up M.T. Anderson's Clue of the Linoleum Lederhosen in the midst of the Fforde book. Lo and behold, it is like Fforde for MG! I've never read anything by M.T. Anderson before, but apparently this is the sequel to Whales on Stilts. If you don't know anything about the children's book industry, maybe it's not so funny, but if, like me, your world came apart when at age 8 you learned that Carolyn Keene was a packager and not a real person, you might just laugh like I did.

Other creative efforts today include working on the removeable wall between the living and dining room-turned-boys-bedroom so that the boys can finally have some privacy and so we all don't have to look at dirty socks and spilled legos. Thanks to whoever had the idea of putting cloth on the back of the shelf thingy. I'm making progress. I'll post before and after pictures when I get it all put together.

For now--time for homework.
