Life in the Green house
Sep. 16th, 2008 08:33 pmPart I of the evening consisted of homework help, while balancing a baby. I don't know how homeschoolers do it; I really don't. It's all I can do to just get through the homework. Small Child accompanied the event with her "Summ Summ Buch" (aka German children's song book).
Part II consisted of The Oxford Book of Carols, with various Latin and macaronic carols sung in the Ballroom (aka living room with no furniture but a pretty laminate floor) to try to soothe said baby. Accompanied by the high notes of the Blockfloete, aka recorder. It didn't soothe the baby, but everyone else had fun.
Part III consisted of Family Dance to past Eurovision one-hit wonders (and one-hit bombs) in the Hoedown Room (aka the dining/living/kitchen).
I draw two conclusions from this: 1) it's really cool to live in a house because you can listen to loud(ish) music and jump around and it doesn't alarm the neighbors, and 2) it's a good thing we have five kids who get it, because I'm quite sure our neighbors don't.
