studying writing
Apr. 21st, 2008 03:52 pmI hate when you pick up books to study (plotting, pulling people in, reactions--you know, all those kinds of things I'm thinking about these days) and not only do you have a hard time keeping your mind on the structure instead of falling headfirst into the story, you realize that you are SO far behind writing anything of this quality that you might as well take out an application for Alaskan king crab fishing instead. Not that I haven't enjoyed reading this weekend. I just hate it when you work hard, learn something, and once that problem is out the way, you realize there is a whole 'nother huge mountain even bigger than the one you just chiseled away, standing between you and where you want to be.
