Ugh. The company that owns our building has decided to paint the stairwells and front doors today.
Our door has to be open to dry.
Which means we can't just leave.
Which means I have to keep four on-vacation, stir-crazy kids entertained for another day inside (it rained all last week and plans to do more today). If the older kids want to go to the playground, the toddler will want to go. She can't unless I'm with her, and I can't leave the apartment with the door open.
The smell of the paint is making me lightheaded, but I have to sit in the front room and guard the door so said toddler doesn't escape.
The painters are having a smoking break. Tobacco makes me sick to my stomach.
It all happens again tomorrow for the next coat of paint. I can't wait.
