Fortschritt!

Brought my first grader to the kindergarten for his extra German class this morning, and when the teacher wanted to talk to me, I got all nervous. These days that scenario usually doens't bode well. But she said that yesterday he did great and talked and TALKED all the way back to school with her, and she was so pleased with his progress (Fortschritt)! So I am ecstatic that he actually is learning something. Now he just has to learn to pay attention in class and do what the regular teacher says, not his own thing. (He's a very self-motivated learner, and motivated very little by external forces. Which always means a challenge for his teachers.)

Husband comes home tonight!!

Woo-hoo, good news! You know, the only other language I speak is very bad Spanish (not swear words, he-he, just poorly conjugated)...though I have put a few German words in my ms about WWII -- der fuhrer, mein vater, kuhlwagon, ja -- aren't you impressed? ;)
