Forget the Germans, where do 2yo's get energy??

I'm trying to get back into the WIP after several weeks away. It's going slowly. I wonder why? My two-year-old went to bed after 11:30 last night. (She woke up at 7:30 this morning and hasn't had a nap, in case you're wondering.) She's wearing her third outfit today, she's sharpened colored pencils and emptied the sharpener over my bed, she ate all the mini frozen yogurts my older son was freezing for an after-school treat, and sat on me while I was trying to do pilates. (My back hurts from carrying too many heavy things, and I'd really like to do pilates, because the few times I've been allowed to try them, it's really felt good.) Right now she is dancing to Sandra Boynton's Dog Train and begging to change her clothes yet again. Did I mention that she got her brother's school scissors and cut her hair yesterday? You can't tell, which is amazing, considering the amount of hair we found--it seems to be spread, layerlike, throughout the whole top.

We've gotten to the song "I Need a Nap!" Maybe if she won't take one, I will volunteer. Let me sleep!

Oh, man, I would not go back to those days. It gets easier. Everyone told me it just got different--not easier. I think those people just forgot how intense it is to have a little one. Hang in there, things do look up!

Oh, I hope so!! Even from kid to kid I forget the nitty gritty details...things like how they empty bookshelves faster than you can put the books back, and how if you leave the closet open two millimeters, it's been completely emptied. Once my older daughter got home today, they played in the bathroom. Hair frosted with deodorant. Er, lovely. Good thing the kid is too cute to get mad at!

Hair frosted with deodorant! That's so funny--probably because I'm not their mom or the one that has to clean it up. One of my kids is gone at scout camp. Another is doing art quietly in the living room and the other is getting herself lunch--yes, it is that much easier!!!

Oh, Rose, so sorry! It is so exhausting having little ones. I hope you get some sleep!

Thank you! Me, too!

I can picture all this -- and I'm tired now too ;)

Hope tonight goes much more smoothly (and earlier too).

Thanks--at least some of them fell asleep last night. My littlie is up dancing again, though. Maybe she can dance herself to sleep??

They don't seem to wear themselves out do they? I know my boys are into everything at the worst possible times. Usually when I'm trying to do something productive.

No kidding!
