Words, paint, throat

Hooray for antibiotics. Truly, I believe in them. My throat still feels a bit lumpy, but not like it's been slit. Still, I said no playdates today (as in the kind where you have to drive people somewhere). They are now playing with the neighbor kids, which is much easier than driving everyone all over town. And they've already been to art camp this morning, which was cool because they did these oil dipping "paintings," where you spraypaint into a bucket of water, dip your paper in, and pull it out and it's all marbley. The only bad thing was that it was all of 42 degrees this morning, and the paint dipping class was outside. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but I think it will still be cold when we're there. There is just something wrong with wearing a coat in the middle of JUNE!

I'm up to 12,000 words in my WIP. I feel like more should be happening by now, that I just have piles of words, but I also realize I'm not exactly in the right frame of mind to judge clearly. And this is a first draft. And once I'm done, I'll be able to massage and cut and move things around. But I would like to get the main skeleton more or less in place first. What I need most is a good night's sleep--EVERY night. So germs--go away! Moon--I love you, but stop shining in my window! Children--don't wake up at night! Self--stop waking up automatically at 6:45 when it's summer break and you don't have to!

I hope everybody is having a good summer so far.

Hope you feel better soon. 12,000 that's a great start. Don't think I've written that much in any of my wips yet. Great job.

Thanks, Jamie. Last dose of antibiotics today, so I'm feeling a lot better.

As to the writing, it's been a hard 12K for some reason. But as long as I write one word after another, I'll get there. And so will you!
