Writing

Wow, that was a productive afternoon! I just added 1700 words to a WIP (the kind where you are pulling things out, changing them, and adding things in) while PMB took a nap!! He almost NEVER sleeps, but all the other kids were at school, and it was our first rainy day in eons, and he was just exhausted. After a tantrum, followed by snuggling on my lap, he passed out, and had a reeeeeeeally long rest. And now we are both smiling, because he's had his physical rest, and I've had my mental rest. The first round of kids will be coming home any minue, and it just feels good to have things done that needed to be.

Also--I have more than one WIP going on, but this brings this one up to 7800 words, which means we're close to real-book-dom. It's easy to abandon a project under 5k, but once I get to 10-15k, it starts to feel real, you know? So here's hoping it will be.

For those writing--how is your writing going this fall?

Wow, perfect :)

I got to spend a couple of hours at B&N, and I'm not partway through chapter ten (out of fifteen) with revisions -- whew! I think I can have it finished by the end of the month...which means I'll be querying sometime in October (which is actually pretty intimidating). Still, I have a plan for the next writing activity (reworking an older book which got tons of requests with the same hang-up with all responders)...

That sounds like excellent progress! And fall is a good time for querying, it seems. Good luck on reworking the other book, too!

That is so awesome that you were able to write 1,700 words while your son napped! That type of rest, for both of you (mental and physical), is so important. So glad you were able to take the time to do this.

I just hope it happens again sometime! :)
