Movie download rental fail :(

Son 2 read Hoot, by Carl Hiassen, and really liked it. Said he wanted to see the movie. Well, the library didn't have it (! How can that be??). So we thought we'd try itunes. Fail! You can buy it but not rent it. You can order the DVD from Blockbuster as a rental--um...why would anyone want to do that when they can drive to Blockbuster faster? We came up with several other options, none of which were rent-download-able. So, we are sad.

I think we have found another one, but still. Moviepeople, I want to legally give you my money. Why won't you take it??

Hmmm. If you do manage to see it, let me know what you think. I *loved* the book. But some of my owly friends didn't think much of the movie.

The book read like a movie to me, so I'm hoping we can find it--I think I'll like it more in movie form, actually. (I liked Flush better because it was more in the kid's head.)

I kinda get what your owly friends mean, though--when a writer or a movie get things wrong, it's really hard for me to suspend disbelief. Luckily, I know next to nothing about owls, so I should be well entertained. :)

Aww, I hope that you figure something out. Good luck. :)

We ended up watching Contact instead, and unfortunately my writer brain kept taking it apart--too many plot points seemed just thrown together, plus I never could identify with the main character. Hopefully we can find a better one next time!

Do you have onDemand on your cable? We rent movies through there all the time. We also use the Zune Marketplace on the XBox. LOVE the Xbox for that reason. Movies and TV shows galore. BTW, Hoot was a wonderful family movie. My son really enjoyed watching it.

With our kids it's all or nothing, so the last time we moved, we did not replace the TV. So, no cable. (Srsly, it's hard to pull them away from even just the computer.)

The trailer looked good--I'm hoping we can find a physical DVD to rent somewhere.
