There's nothing like driving to pick up your husband during a sudden severe thunderstorm (cloud to ground lightning, heavy downpour, and hail the size of large marshmallows hitting your windshield, not to mention the rivers coming down the many hills this town is built on*) to make you realize 1) scouts is not that important and 2) nature is stronger than people.
All is not lost, however. Now we actually have time to eat the banana bread we took out of the oven just before we left.
* (The hail started just as we left, and there was no flash flood warning on when we left for DH's office. There is now. If there had been, we wouldn't have gone anywhere. Don't worry, we're not completely stupid!)
