oil stains on concrete?

So while I was dealing with Lap Boy the other day, my girls came in from playing in the yard and wanted to take a bath. It was only around 4:30 but I generally approve the times my kids choose of their own free will to wash themselves, so I said of course. Well, once they were out and we were ready to leave to pick up DH, I opened the front door and found out WHY they were so eager to wash. They had taken canola oil and bubble liquid, mixed them, and poured it all over the concrete porch "so they could slide."

*Head in hands.*

I coated it with liquid laundry soap and sprayed for a long time with the hose, and it isn't slippery any more. But now the porch is two tones, and there are permanent footprint stains all over it. And it's a rental porch, so eventually we're going to come up responsible.

Any ideas on removing cooking oil from concrete? Or do you think I should take the rest of the oil, pain the whole porch so it matches, and scrub with laundry detergent again?

I would google it... but I've never heard of something that would solve that problem. I might try to make it all match, but either way, that doesn't sound very fun.

Can you try bleach (or a bleach mix) on a very small patch? I know we used that to get lots of stuff (not anything you'd want to hear about!) off the concrete porch at my parents' veterinary clinic, when I worked there. :)

I'm wondering if perhaps concrete paint might be in your future. :( Seems easier than trying to make it all match, and I bet the owners wouldn't mind. There are greys and beiges and such that would look just like the original color.

I know I shouldn't think this is funny, but I can just picture your girls slipping and sliding on the porch. Best of luck with the cover up/removal.
