The family reunions are over, and now summer is in full swing. At least today! My 14YO returned from his high adventure trip, uneaten by bears, but rather stinky. My almost 12YO is packing for scout camp (he leaves early Monday morning), bagging some of the stuff his older brother just got done with. Personally, I'll be glad when the scout trip preparation is over, because everyone else in town is camping and/or traveling, and all the camping stuff at Walmart is sold out. Not to mention the chaos levels of packing.

Yesterday PMB (Perpetual Motion Boy) turned four, which means we've been sleepless for four straight years now. There is nothing like waking up by getting kicked in the nose, let me tell you. We transport him often back to his own bed, but like that whack-a-mole toy, he just keeps reappearing. He's very cute and funny, though, so we are holding out hope that someday he will sleep through the night. Otherwise, we'll have to start sleeping when he's in school.

Summer usually means moving to me, since we've done that nearly every other summer since we've been married. In a rare switch of fate, we're actually NOT moving this summer--but my internal clock is getting antsy. So it was nice to join some neighborhood friends in helping a friend pack up for her own move. I don't know much about many things, but moving is something I do know about!

I also fixed the sprinkler today, which had some kind of odd electrical thing going on with it. The property management repair person never did come out (they haven't ever fixed the wind-damaged shingles, either, so I wasn't breathlessly expecting them to show up as promised). But I got it working again. Whew, because the lawn was getting crunchy.

And tonight is fireworks at the park, celebrating Pioneer Day (when Mormon pioneers aka permanent settlers arrived in Utah on July 24, 1849--which subsequently led to the settlement of Idaho). I hope people go to bed after that, though! Because after all of this today, I am TIRED. :)
