Fun with drawing

It's really beautiful out right now! Last night we went out to the front lawn to read. And lie down on the grass and look at cool clouds. And take pictures of each other a la Soviet propaganda posters. It's not an angle I'm used to looking at my kids (um...being a short person, I look at adults that way a lot, though). Foreshortening is tricky in faces, but I'm fairly pleased with these as no-erase rough sketches. And, drawing is a great activity when you're puzzling over something in another part of your creative life (ie figuring out plot issues or whatever).

I'm waiting for a book on drawing faces to show up. Hopefully it will spawn a whole new series of drawings...
