Field trips

My 7YO came home from a class trip to the local farm store yesterday. With a flyer--5 free chicks if you buy a bag of chick starter.

"Pleeeeeese, Mom? I really, really want to get some!!"

Um...I told her she could talk to her Californian grandma and her aunt about how that went down last time around.

What I need right now

Rocky Road ice cream and a book that matches--like Lora Innes's The Dreamer comic, except that I've just reread that. Any recommendations? (Can be a regular book, not just a comic.) The sun is shining for once and my head is full and I just want a moment to sit in the sun and just BE.
