Wow, happy spring break! We have several inches of SNOW out there. My sister is coming up to visit with her kids and we had all these plans for hiking and doing things outside--seeing as it's been so nice lately (um, well, off and on, between the 40-degree days. But it hasn't been *snowing* until now.) I guess it's just as well, though, because yesterday in a fit of celebration of both sunlight and um, some things going really right just now, I took the kids to the park, and on the way back, my 11YO thought it would be fun to run up the side of a concrete barrier, and landed wrong and broke his foot. We're glad the local thrift store has such an excellent collection of nice crutches. I guess if the snow sticks around, people can have fun building stuff outside, instead of hiking??
Today my neighbor came over to discuss explosions with me. She's a chemistry professor and loves to make things go boom, and I am a writer with an inventor character whose projects often go wrong on him. She gave me some good ideas, and I gave her a topic of discussion when she's at graduation tonight (gun cotton and exactly what it can do).
Happy Easter and Passover, whichever you celebrate, and if you don't do either, take a moment anyway to be grateful for those people who paid for the freedom you enjoy.
