Snow caves, anyone?
Jan. 3rd, 2011 07:40 pmI don't believe I've mentioned this on my blog yet, but my oldest son is supposed to go snow camping with the scouts in a couple weeks. Yes. You heard right. It's currently below zero and they are going to go off and sleep overnight in a snow cave. Apparently they do this every year. Supposedly if you build it right, it is 32+ degrees F inside. Someone please reassure the mom part of my brain on this one.
Despite my skepticism, I went to the local thrift store today to find layers of clothes he can wear on this expedition. While there, I happened to find a very familiar looking sweater. Blue fleece, horse on the front, a German brand, size 128. I doubt you can find many articles of German children's clothing in this town. Upon questioning, my daughter did indeed lose it at school before the holidays. And as everyone knows, at the end of every semester, the lost and found gets donated. So I returned and bought our own sweater back. Next time she's paying!
Other than that, the kids went back to school and I cleaned up holiday wreckage. And PMB FINALLY got a nap. Tomorrow, though, the library opens back up! And that will mean everything's truly back to normal.
