There is nothing like the rush you get from writing. I LOVED my last book. But it was hard to write. My MC didn't want to talk to me about his problems AT ALL. "Get out of my head, you nosy author, and leave me alone" was kind of the attitude there. It took a really long time to figure out why he acted the way he did and to get him to spill what was really on his mind. I did feel in some small way like I was giving someone a voice with that book, so naturally I really, really, really hope I can find someone else who loves this book and will let it live beyond my hard drive.
So nothing against that book. But this time around is So. Much. Easier! This main character just wants to talk all the time. He wants me to know EVERYTHING about him. I've never written a book this fast before. He showed up in August and had this whole story to tell, and I did take a month off to revise the other book, but after four weeks, it was tap tap tappity tap, when are you getting back to ME? I just got to chapter 20, and while I still have some things to figure out, it's going well. It's like every time I sit down, it just flows out of my head and onto the screen.
It doesn't mean it's any good, but it does mean it's a lot of fun to write!
