Words and quarks
Nov. 4th, 2010 02:35 pmWow, it's 65F--in Idaho in November! Lovely. (Of course, it's below freezing at night. But I don't mind as long as it warms up in the day.)
Another awesome writing day. I've never had so many good writing days in a row. I hope it lasts a good long time! Especially since I don't have a lot of uninterrupted time, like EVER. But today I had to find a handful of sand for son 1's book report, so I took a drive to where I know there's piles and piles, and by the time we got back, PMB was asleep. And he even stayed asleep for the next hour, until I had to get Little Sweetie! Ahhhh... And again, I wrote a lot of words. I was stuck after yesterday because I'd come to the end of that section of the book, but I played around with ideas this morning and came up with a lot of developments the story needs. I remember
pixiechick_sw talking recently about the book that wrote itself, and thinking how cool that was, and also how unlikely it would be to ever happen to me. Well, it's not quite the same (I doubt I'll write in anywhere near that breakneck speed) but considering the number of small people around, it's really not a bad pace.
Oh yeah, and the research on the LHC last night. Um. Wow. I had no idea my boys (10 and 12) knew so much about quantum particles. Or how exactly the Large Hadron Collider works. Or the intricacies of micro black holes. Or all that stuff about dimensions and quarks. (To me, "Quark" is a yogurt-like substance you eat in Germany.) I imagine we'll continue on with it all tonight.
I hope your writing is going well, those who write, and for everyone, I hope you're enjoying learning something new this fall! Even if you have to learn it from your kids...
