It was a really nice Sunday today. This evening we went over and saw DH's youngest sister and brother, who, after various circuitous paths, have ended up getting jobs back here. (Not an easy feat!) My sister in law (the Sainted Aunt--my kids polish her picture, I kid you not) has a cool little apartment with ceiling moulding and the kind of detail that makes you think of Charleston. In fact, she has a number of photos of my favorite Charleston places up on her walls. She also has tons of lovely books. She's a librarian, which means she has ARCs of books I've been hearing about for a while--books I can borrow. Yay! I came home with Touch Blue, The Clockwork Three, and The Hourglass Door. I started on Touch Blue right away because I loved Rules, and it was lovely. I think my girls will enjoy it--that just might be their next read-aloud. We finished Palace Beautiful tonight (they loved it), and so they are looking for a new book. The other books I haven't read yet, but will directly.

Then, we went to see my brother-in-law and his wife, and their new baby, who is very cute. I think one reason my girls enjoyed Palace Beautiful is that it deals in part with the stepmom having a baby, and new babies have definitely been on their minds! My niece is very cute, and even better than cute is how calm and relaxed she is. Wow. It's been a looooooong time since I held a baby who was that mellow. Little Sweetie was, but PMB has never been that relaxed--not even when he's asleep! So that will be nice for them.

I'm going to read some more, and then go to bed. Good night!
