1. My 5YO is singing Lithuania's Get Up and Dance to an Eastern European Funk song. It's kind of funny. She also likes to sing the Denmark song, which sounds kind of country (well, with a Danish accent, of course).

2. We are really moving. We've taken down nearly all the furniture in the girls' room, the boys have only their beds (and they are going to go soon), we did some painting today, and as soon as we decide we're done cooking, we're cleaning the stove and fridge. I am SO TIRED, but we can't stop now. I'm glad we have a detour for several weeks and don't have to move right in quite yet because I've been looking and looking and haven't found a place to live yet. It's a small town and mostly people move there to be students, so there are a lot of apartments, but not a lot of houses for rent. Many of the ones I've seen turn out to be houses-turned-into-apartments, with someone renting the main house and someone else renting the basement. No thank you. I'm really hoping something better turns up soon.

3, My 9YO brought all his school stuff home today (Monday is the last day). I was very entertained with his writing notebook. The kid is going to be a writer! He's the one who does guest reviews from time to time. His notebook was stuffed with story beginnings, a few graphic novel ideas, and just tons and tons of well thought out writing for a 9YO. He might not like to play the academia game, but the kid is talented!

4. The U of Ark. I've been driving around a lot, running errands, which mostly involves driving through or around the university. It's Worldwide Walmart Worship this week. Um...my friend says that's sacrilegious, but I'm serious, that's what it's like when shareholders (aka workers?) come from all over the world in droves to stay in the dorms and go to revivals shows with famous entertainers and put up tents on a wide lawn to sell their relics wares and shut down the university for half the week and fill the Walmart stores with racecar simulators and things like that. So that's been...interesting.

5. Then there's the university buildings themselves. I have always found the dorm names rather descriptive. Kudos to whoever picks out the honors dorm from the lineup (you can er...make your own assumptions about the others): Pomfret Hall, Yocum Hall, Hotz Hall, or Carnall Hall.

6. And finally, while we're on the subject of education and Arkansas, Arkansas has ranked #10 in the nation for quality schools. See full report here. See, I told you I went to good schools growing up. Unfortunately, I'm moving to Idaho, which ranks um...44th.

Hope you have a happy and relaxing weekend!
