Urgh, every once in a while the moving chaos gets to you. There is no shortage of what can be packed; the question is, what do we leave out? We're moving to Idaho in two weeks, but we're moving via California, where we'll be for several weeks. Which means that we have to take stuff out to use during the Summer of the Nomad Life. And our van, like most vans, fits basically nothing. Which is annoying.

I know. I am grateful we have a place to go to! But sometimes stress--even if it's good stress--socks you from behind. We have a job--yay! We have to move--boo! DH sold his book--yay! He has to do his final edits while we're packing--boo! I wrote and polished two books--yay! I might be ninety before I see anything of mine in print, if ever--boo! Sometimes I'm having fun adventures because of it all. But sometimes I feel like I'm spinning my wheels, treading water, working hard and never getting anywhere, which is sorta how I feel today.

Anyway. I took children 1 and 4 in for a yearly checkup today. Little Sweetie got three shots and the 12YO got two. Little Sweetie went first. Totally relaxed. She just kinda sat there with a disinterested expression while they poked her. Then it was the 12YO's turn. Um. First we had to coax him out from under the table. Then he had to sit on my lap while I held his hands. Seriously. He was tense as a board and writhing. Man. I hope I don't have to put him on my lap when he's 22 and needs his next tetanus shot.
