Please, please assure me that someday your kids lose the fascination of trashing your room. Srsly, I just want one room in the house that is CLEAN, where nobody comes in and dumps stuff.

I realize that the fact that PMB's bed and drawers are in my room is part of it. (The plan was to move him to the girls' room once he was out of the itty bitty baby stage, but they just have too many tiny toy parts for it to be safe for him. Plus, sometimes they need to be separated to prevent more destruction.) But still. I can handle some chaos--I have five kids, after all--but this game where we pull the blankets and mattress on the floor and then steer the toddler bed frame around the room, push around the diaper pail, gut the dresser, and bring more toys in, just in case a tiny bit of the floor is visible, is TOO MUCH. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're entertained, because before anything else is required of me today, I need to deal with chapter 24, which is near the end of the book and which needs to be changed a lot. But aaaaaaaaaa!! We are WAY above my level to ignore chaos right now!

Someday I'm going to live in a house where everybody (or at least the parents) get their OWN room. And there will be big closets with shelves where people can put stuff away. And the mattresses and blankets will be nailed down somehow. And we'll have a special kind of gravity that prevents toy buckets from being dumped out wholesale. And no more than five books will be able to come out of a shelf at once.
