Jan. 12th, 2010 02:01 pmLast night: exploding volcano cake for son 1's birthday. Bake plumbing tubes inside a cake (that's baked upside down in a metal mixing bowl), invert, melt chocolate chips over it, and drizzle raspberry sauce on it, and spray whip cream up the tubes, and you get a volcano. Yum.
Today: So now I have a wrist brace. It's kind of hard to type this way. After a year and a half (note the correspondence with PMB's age) of wrist pain, I finally went to the doctor. I already knew I had a ganglion cyst because of my mad skillz with the internet. I got to wait for an hour and a half (note: I have never waited that long when I've had socialized medicine) for a 3-minute visit with the doctor in which she confirmed in my internet diagnosis. I did get a brace out of it, though, which was good. And she thinks it might only take six weeks to heal, provided I wear the brace and don't do anything drastic. The nice thing is that I could get it taken care of today. The not so nice thing is that it ate up all the time I would have had to write while Little Sweetie was at playgroup. :(
Also today: it was a happy mail day. Someone sent us a box of small things from Germany. I love that place (and by that, I mean the people). Also, a couple of books I ordered showed up as well. I am feeling rich!
