water main shut off?
So, where is the main shut off valve located in your house? When we moved in, we asked the landlord where it was. He said there wasn't one. Um. I'm pretty sure there is...or? I looked at the corner of the property line by the road where it usually is, but I only see one for the neighbor.
I'm really hoping we don't need that crucial bit of information, but this morning after I did the dishes, the cold water in the kitchen sink froze. As in, nothing comes out of the faucet. The other faucets all work (except for the washing machine, which is located kittycorner behind the kitchen sink). I've opened the cabinet under the sink, and opened the heating vent in the laundry room. The only other "rooms" in that corner are the garage and the crawlspace, neither of which I can really heat. And I really, really, really don't want to crawl under the house, especially since the crawl space is about as spacey as that cave where the guy died in Utah, and I have a feeling there are things under there. Not to mention the fact that I don't know what I'd do under there.
It's 14 degrees. Tonight's low is supposed to be 3, and tomorrow's high only 8. I really, really, really don't want frozen/burst pipes.
In other news, I was making so much progress with my revision that I found it more appealing to organize my closet. Which looks like the Room of Requirement on one of its "worser" days, as that's where we hide everything that we want to keep out of reach of kids. Which is like, everything.
Please, someone send warm weather. Three weeks' worth of cabin fever is starting to get to all of us.
