It's back! Just now. We've let the faucet trickle on the line between hot and cold all night and all day, and just now, it opened up and started running cold. Hooray! And it's supposed to be 1 degree Fahrenheit tonight (did you know that's -17C?!), so I think we'll just keep those water lines running...
I did see foam you could pad your pipes with in the store today--but I don't know how I'd ever get to the pipes to wrap them, as they're under a tight crawlspace.
The house is a LOT colder today than yesterday. I tried to put some of that plastic shrink wrap on the windows, but although the tape sticks to the windowframe, it won't stick to the plastic. Um. Problem, Duck Tape company.
The kids did have school, but it was so cold that instead of having them wait outside for pickup like they usually do, they had the kids wait inside, and they called them out by radio when their parent was there.
If you're thinking of retiring in Arkansas because it's warm, just be aware of January, 'kay?
