Happy Baggins Day!
Sep. 22nd, 2009 10:28 amSeptember 22 is Bilbo and Frodo Baggins's birthdays. Not sure what to make for dinner that would correspond--they spend a lot of time thinking about heavy English food, but they don't spend a lot of time actually eating it. What would you make if you had to celebrate Hobbits?
Yet another round of revisions done. Maybe I've addressed the lost tension problem. I hope so. I've also added like 4000 words to this thing, which does NOT make me happy. I'm going to go through and just try to shave off 10% of each chapter. It won't work in some because I've already done that. But maybe I can take some off in others. I'm wondering if some scenes (like some of the flashbacks) can be deleted without losing important information. Not sure yet. Also not sure about the whole balance between what-is-too-obvious-for-words, and what-is-so-underexplained-that-no-one-gets-it.
Yesterday and today (and tomorrow) are full of events, though, so I'm really hoping that I get a chance to work on this soon when my children are all asleep. PMB is right now, but Little Sweetie is naturally wanting someone to talk to, and we have to go bring back some milk I bought yesterday that was curdled once we opened it this morning. (We bought some meat for the crock pot Saturday that smelled bad when we opened it the next day as well--different stores, but definitely yucky, esp. considering that they were all well within the sell-by dates.)
So um, everybody go eat some lembas or something and have a great day!
