Illustration Friday

I'm so glad I found Illustration Friday! Taking the walking octopus (aka PMB) into an art gallery is night unto impossible, but this way I can get the gallery browsing on the internet as he's climbing me. Seriously, it's like a box of chocolates--all your favorite styles, plus all kinds of completely unexpected ones. I had one I was working on but the kids keep stealing my sketch book to add their own stuff in it, so I put up a quickie for this week instead.

When I draw I can listen to music and talk to people (unlike when I write), so it's a great creative hobby to both blow off steam and fill the well for the whole writing thing. Plus, I love how the sites can be in all different languages, but it totally doesn't matter--pictures = instant accessibility. Since I've now spent a good part of my life dealing with the whole language issue, it's so nice to have that alternate way of communicating for when words are a barrier.
