Gotta love Perpetual Motion Boy, especially when he manages to escape his five wardens and suddenly materializes on the organ pedals during the prelude. That was fun. Suddenly the registration started changing, all on its own! Not to mention all these wrong notes I wasn't actually playing.

He really does love music, not just tracking down his mommy. One of the few words we know he understands is "dance." The girls are really, REALLY into dancing to Eurovision songs, and they have Pavlov-trained him to start dancing whenever they turn on music. The kid can't even walk, but he starts moving back and forth as energetically as he can. And tries to sing, even though all he can manage is the vowels. He even thought the electric mixer was music the other day and started dancing to that. I'll be interested to see how this all develops--so far whatever the kids have had a particular interest at this age ended up something they were rather good at. Maybe he'll even be able to teach his brothers some dance moves. For the moment, though, it would be nice if he could learn to walk on his own.

In writing--I'm considering taking an old novel and stripping it down to the studs and completely rewriting it. Have any of you tried that? Is that insane, or doable? I feel like I've been spending ever brain cell for the past two years trying to figure out this plot thing and how it works, and I think I've finally got it. I'm sure plot is really easy for a lot of people, and maybe it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I can feel the sparks in my mind clicking together, and suddenly I can see it. Which makes me want to see what else I can do, now that I understand it.
