Happy Mother's Day!
May. 10th, 2009 08:02 pmWhew, we all survived! DH has been out of town since Wednesday at a cool medieval conference (what IS it with his profession? They cannot leave holidays alone!). He got home today at noon, but since I had to play the organ today, he got to sit for a couple house until I could get there. (The "local" airport is also a hefty 40 minutes away.) This of course meant that he wasn't there to hold Lap Boy during church, which meant I had to find someone to do that while I was on the organ. Luckily I have a friend who likes my kids who was willing to take charge. Anyway, everyone is now home, we have eaten our chocolate strawberry shortcake, the kids have presented their pens-dressed-as-flowers and eaten the candy they gave me, and I have opened the present DH brought home from his conference--a real-looking facsimile of a page from a medieval manuscript. It looks very cool! It seems I will need to rearrange our art wall. Most of all, I'm glad not to be a single parent any more. Hooray!!
Then I called my mom, which was nice. I'm lucky to have a great mom and a great mother in law! And I'm glad my mother in law can spend the day at home and not huddled in a shelter somewhere...
I hope you all had nice days whether or not you have children!
