So I'm trying to come up with something that DD1 (age 7) would really like for Christmas (as opposed to her going through every advertising catalog that comes to our house and saying, I want that! and that! and that!--I know, we really are working on that whole materialism thing). ANYWAY, my budget is limited, so whatever I get I want to be just right, and not just any random thing. And she loves to dance. She's not in any dance classes (way too $$), but she likes turning on the prerecorded selections on the keyboard we're borrowing and dancing to that. She likes Sandra Boynton's CDs, Eurovision songs ("gungy songs," she calls them), songs like 99 Red Balloons, Elefantastisch, and energetic things like that. There's a lot of energetic kid music in Germany, but the selections I'm finding here are the same old, same old tiny collections of Old McDonald, or Wee Sing (which DH and I er...have a hard time listening to--plus, it's just not anywhere in the same category as something as fantabulous as Dog Train). Any suggestions for a CD that might hit the sweet spot? I'm hopeless at music outside the classical sphere.
