I realize this is completely not exciting to those of you spinning out complete novels this month. However, every time I've picked up my draft lately, I can't get past reading a single sentence before something else comes up. I have about 60K of random scenes that need to be put in the right order, or deleted, or rewritten, and I have other scenes that need to go in to actually finish the story. So for the past several weeks I've been desperately trying to get an outline written so I can shunt the appropriate scenes on the appropriate shelves, if you will, and put the story together right.
Today I finished the outline. Yay! (Huge thanks to Sleeping Lap Child and Little Sweetie and also to Fisher Price and Playmobil, for their assistance in entertaining.)
It's not much on the surface, but I feel almost as good as if I'd finished a draft.
