European cup
Jun. 8th, 2008 10:35 pmI'm hearing fireworks all of a sudden outside, and earlier we got a broadcast of the national anthem, which only gets taken out for sporting events. We must have won.
Yep. 2-0 over Poland. Hooray! Not that I'm at all sports-minded. But it's fun to see Germans actually waving the German flag. It hasn't happened very often in the past 60 years. Of course, hosting the world cup in Nurnberg a couple years ago did a lot to lighten that up.
Okay, since most of the outlets in most of the bedrooms don't work, I've got to go to bed and hope we wake up on time tomorrow. I don't think we'll be able to sleep through son #1's singing at 5:30, but just in case it's cloudy and he sleeps in...til maybe 5:45 or so...it would be good to get some sleep.
Job #1 for the girl coming tomorrow: help me find the words to explain what is going on to the repair guys. I don't know if I can explain it right in my own language, so looking up words is a bit tricky.
