The Host, by Stephenie Meyer

So I intended on doing other things today but I "had" to buy something to read while waiting for my doctor's appointment.  Wow. What a great book. I suspect this one will have more male fans than the Twilight books--the MC is female, but there is a lot less gushing about anyone's godlike physical attraction. Halfway through the book I had no idea how anyone could ever possibly come up with a satisfying solution, but Meyer did. I'm really, really glad I'm not trying to write this kind of book, because I would be overcome with envy and resign myself to a life of cutting fish heads off for the local market square instead of writing. Excellent!
