I now have 39K's worth of continuing action with a protagonist who "protags," as [profile] sarah_prineas would say. (Well, I think so, anyway--test readers may disagree. Every time I think I've finally learned something, it seems I find I haven't.) Remaining is a pile of scenes I like, and I've got to either recast them to my MC's stronger plot trajectory, or discard them. I no longer have any sadness about ditching great lines, funny scenes, scenes people have really liked, etc. I just want it all to tell a story, preferably the same story, and be done. I'm finding I add a lot of words at once, and then have to stop and think how to condense and proceed. I try not to think about the remaining text and focus on what I've got so far.

I'm also supposed to have all activities, plans, etc. for which I am responsible for this youth trip ready by 7 pm tomorrow. In two languages. No pressure, really. That's not me hyperventilating, oh, no! Well, one packet of info is done, except for my husband's German check--which will be painful, since I know it's a really terrible translation. Luckily most of it is quotes that I don't have to translate. The other event I'm in charge of is a talent show. I can come up with odd items to use in skits, but I'm not sure what to do about the requested songs and games. (Two groups perform a song, two perform skits, and two lead games.) The games one has me really puzzled. All of this takes a ton of thought, which is hard when you actually live with other people (as most of us do). I will have smaller events are this, but this is the last big event until moving, though, so if I can just get through it, I might survive.
