Saturday--progress?
Apr. 26th, 2008 09:13 pmAgain, I have to say that it's much easier to get things done when you have energy. Yay!
Today I got to go supervise a youth sports day. Um, I don't play sports. At. All. Luckily I had my handy excuse to just sit there and watch. The easy part was the fact that for some reason--probably because it was a shorter event than usual (usually we have breakfast and lunch and go all day with our Saturday events, and today was just three hours and drinks)--none of the American kids showed up. The three non-Germans speak German, so there was no translation needed. Other than that it was pretty crazy, though--there's some visiting American pianists showing up next week for a concert, which meant that a rented grand piano was showing up (there's one there, but it's a two-piano event), which meant that the indoor basketball game had to stop. But hey--it was 18 degrees C outside (in the 60s) and sunny, so I think everyone was more than happy to play either volleyball or soccer!
When I got home my family was cleaning the house :) and then everyone wanted to go biking because it was so nice out. Littlest Child LOVES her Laufrad (that's the toddler bike without pedals), and I had to take her extra far because she wouldn't go home. Then I was able to work on some materials for this youth trip coming up, and work on a critique. So even though it's 9:30 and I can still hear the sounds of my boys' voices from their room, I feel like I got something done today. Yay!
