on critiques

You all know that you're saving my reading sanity, right? I have a stack of good-looking books (in German) that are due this week because I haven't slogged through enough foreign language yet. But in the meantime, I've read three excellent books (in English!) in the past two weeks. Sure, there was "work" involved (critiquing), but it was also an awesome chance to read some great books in a language I'm competent in. Yay and thank you!

Just a few more crits on my own ms to get back. So far they've been pretty much converging on the same things, which is encouraging. It's much easier to address issues you know are real concerns than to guess which of all the varied comments are right--if any. Also, a few people have gotten later versions, and I'm delighted that some of the spots once flagged as um, "flagging" are now being marked as page turners. It really helps to hear that the changes I made were in the right direction. A HUGE thank you to all who volunteered to guinea pig my story!!

Now if only I had a plan for October's teen Saturday event detailed, as well as all 20 pages of info (in German) for the youth leadership training meeting I'm supposed to help run in a few weeks, I'd be set.
