Vienna

I'm back from Vienna! Despite the stomach flu, it was fun. Impressions:

First, we ended up on a different train route than the one I'd originally seen. No Alps. :(  Instead we went through Regensburg and Passau, following the Danube valley. Rolling hills and green, but I was hoping for mountains. We definitely have to make a trip to see those Alps! We had a train compartment, which was, as one child put it, just like in the Hogwarts Express. I'm sure our fellow passengers appreciated the door we could close. It was a loooong trip.

Vienna: We are the Center of the Empire, and We Used to Own Your Souls (and don't you forget it!!)  They did, actually. My Czech side were serfs under the Austrian Empire.
