Thanksgiving Meme
On Thanksgiving, we all are grateful for family, friends, food, and homes. That's wonderful. List 10 things you are grateful for that you probably wouldn't say at the dinner table on Thanksgiving.

1. The U-bend that makes indoor plumbing possible. Truly one of the greatest technological inventions in the history of mankind (as well as womankind, and especially little kidkind).
2. Washing machines, which rank right up there.
3. The Burger King just outside the train station in Nurnberg. Not that I normally crave hamburgers, but I can still remember how good that Fresh Red Meat tasted when I was pregnant and the kid said, "I want a Whopper--Right Now!" (and that was six and a half years ago!)
4. Stained glass windows, even though they're made with lead.
5. Every agent and editor who has ever bothered to give me a non-form response
6. Medical people. I don't do insides; in fact, the older I get, the more squeamish I get.
7. Johannes Gutenberg
8. The inventors of glasses and contact lenses
9. Sleep (although it's been awhile since I've had any)
10. Those canny Swiss and Germans who invented the One True Way to process chocolate.
