progress!

I checked my mail one last time two nights ago and found a letter from an agent I'd queried. (This for the project I've just had all the insight on.) She had requested a partial earlier. I opened the letter quickly and made myself look at it, figuring I might as well get it over with as soon as possible. My insides disappeared when I read the words. She wanted a full.

I've never had a request for a full before.

My husband has done dinner and ridden herd over the banshees--er, I mean, darling children--the past two nights so I could do one more proof before sending it out, which I did today. He says I'm "dissertating" and that this is like getting a campus interview (which he's had a number of times...we're still waiting to be selected as a winner, but hope springs eternal, and all that). I'm so happy to be married to someone who really gets the writing thing.

I know, there's still a long road between a request for a full and a tangible, printed book of one's own. But there's one person with Publishing Power who liked the first chapters enough to request more, and that's enough for now.

Feel psyched for the WIPs now...
