I HATE it when my hard drive dies.
At least I only lost what I did today. And we had an extra hard drive lying around (from all the dead laptops we've had, we have a lot of organs to donate).
Still.
Off to find my backup files. Off to figure out what all my bookmarks were.
Drat.

Good luck...

Date: 2009-03-19 02:50 pm (UTC)Our PC has been trying to die for the past couple of months. We've had the computer surgeons here a couple of times (though they keep saying it's not worth saving . . .), and now it's started making crackling noises. Whenever the noises start, we get the dreaded black screen of death.
If we leave it for a few hours, then try to bring it back up, it will work. Sometimes. For another hour or two. Thent the crackling and black screen.
So far, my husband is in denial. He keeps telling me everything is fine.
Uh, okay.
I believe we both need large quantities of chocolate.
