Yes, I'm happy that the state of Michigan has a graded system for new drives so that kids really do have to learn how to drive before they are turned loose on the road. And yes, I am happy that the minimum driving age seems to be rising in so many places. I feel much safer. But new driving laws are destroying my character's freedom!

Surely there are states where you can still get a plain old license at 16? I might need to move my character...

I know. It is so hard when things like that change. I run into that type of problem, too. I have no clue about DL laws in the US.

I think so...I might have to track down a teen or parent of a teen and ask the particulars. (I know, I can look it up on line--but some of those things have way too many details when I'm just trying to get the basic facts.)

I know! It's like slugging through a swamp and the language isn't really English, is it? LOL! I do know that if you're grades are below a certain level they yank your license, so this points toward them being able to have a license.
