Virtual vacation

If you were hosting a middle eastern exchange student and you lived in Michigan and you wanted to send him off on a short trip, where would you send him? Because I think my MC and my mind need a rest from each other for a few days. He's totally cool and we get along great, but sometimes you just need to get out of town, you know?

Actually, if anyone else's characters would like to go with him, that would be cool. He's big (plays football), so you wouldn't need to worry much about safety issues (unless his scary uncle shows up--but he's laying low, so you're probably okay). Nice guy, on the quiet side, quick to react when it comes to injustice or bullying. He would like to see more of the western hemisphere. Any takers for a road trip?

(Yes, it's way too late and I need to take a break from revising!!)

I'd love to send all my characters with him. Anubis, I'm guessing? I'm thinking he and Oscar from my book would get along swimmingly. I hope this is a loooooong trip. ;-)

LOL--I think a road trip is DEFINITELY in order. And yes--let's do send Anubis and Oscar. I'm thinking Andy needs to experience the wild west. I-40. Amarillo and lonely, high Texas grass of the panhandle. Rattlesnakes for Sale. The blasting wind of Tucumcari, NM. Red stone cliffs. Navajo radio. The huge meteor crater near Winslow, AZ. The armpit that is Needles, CA. A trip to the Grand Canyon, through the California desert and Joshua tree lands, a stop at the beach in Santa Barbara... Up to the amazing Yosemite National Park to climb Half Dome and smell jeffrey pines (they smell like vanilla and cinnamon as well as pine), over some mountain passes and maybe encounter some cougars and moose maybe in the Tetons, go float on the Great Salt Lake, tour a volcano, see some buffalo, and maybe view the Badlands of SD (never having been to the Dakotas/Montana/Wisconsin, I am not entirely sure what's up there, but I'm sure there's something interesting!). The car could break down somewhere interestingly remote and they could do some hiking/survival stuff... They can send us postcards from their trip, as long as everybody gets a good, long rest from the regular story.

OMG this is so much fun! I just love the image of Andy and Oscar driving along in a muscle car, fending off wild animals and women :-) We should blog every now and again--in postcard form--about our two guys and what they might be up to!

Totally! Andy's in Lansing, Michigan. Where is Oscar from when he's not on board?

San Francisco! In 1855 :-) We need HG Wells and a fast car to hook those two up.

Well, Anubis was definitely around in 1855--what's to say he HAS to be bound to any one particular time?
