Brr

Well, who knows how long we'll have power, but it appears that due to cold (-10) and power outages around town, school is cancelled just about...everywhere in SE Idaho. -10 is not really all that cold if you have heat (I mean, YES, it's horribly cold, but usually you don't have problems with your car not starting or whatever until about -20). But with no heat... We even got a call from the university, cancelling classes this morning, and saying that if you have no heat, you can hang out up there (I imagine they have a generator??) The internet only just started working, so I guess they're making progress. We have heat, for which I'm grateful--we don't have a fireplace, so in a worst-case scenario, we carve out snow caves in the yard and stuff them with our -20 sleeping bags. A can opener and a roll of duct tape are not exactly going to suffice in Idaho in an emergency. (Not that you shouldn't have those, too.)
