Woohoo! I just typed THE END. (No, it's not necessary--except psychologically to me. :) I started this draft at 35K and now I am DONE. Well--except for extensive revision. I have labeled my draft "draft 0" because it's not quite there enough to be a first draft. But there is a beginning, a middle, and an end. It's sort of short, only 54K, but I know there are places that need to be fleshed out. I wrote this sort of with an outline, and it's a YA contemporary (ie not what I usually write), so basically everything about this book is a variation of my usual M.O.
But it's only the middle of November. And I've got another half-finished draft, this for a not-so-outlined MG with a bit of light magic. I need to shovel the driveway, but I'm thinking...how much of that one can I get done this year, too? The remaining Nano words I have to reach 50K would probably finish this one off as well...
